Forwards
Bukayo Saka (RW) – 6/10 – Everton had a fair bit of success ‘roughing’ Saka up as the winger didn’t get much change out of the left side of the Toffees’ defence. Still teed up Trossard for the opener.
Eddie Nketiah (ST) – 4/10 – Had the fewest number of touches on the pitch at the time of his withdrawal just after the hour.
Gabriel Martinelli (LW) – N/A – Injured during his disallowed goal sequence and it looks like he’ll be spending some time on the sidelines.
Substitutes
Leandro Trossard – 7.5/10
Gabriel Jesus – 5/10
Takehiro Tomiyasu – 6/10
Kai Havertz – 5.5/10

The visitors upped the tempo in the final third and came close to opening the scoring right after the restart. However, Pickford smartly denied Martin Odegaard.

Eventually, Arsenal’s pressure told and they took the lead through a fantastic Leandro Trossard finish following a smart short corner routine. The Gunners’ improvement after half-time meant they were good value for their lead against a pretty flat Everton side, and they then sought to end the contest.

A second goal didn’t arrive, though, with the visitors instead deciding to see out the contest which they did without much danger.

Goalkeeper & Defenders

David Raya (GK) – 6.5/10 – A surprise inclusion and had very little to do on his Arsenal debut. Claimed the high ball with confidence and had no issues on the ball.

Ben White (RB) – 6.5/10 – Used the ball pretty well and was effective on the overlap at times. Wasn’t tested much defensively.

William Saliba (CB) – 8/10 – Everton’s woeful use of the ball meant Beto rarely met him in the channels and Saliba dealt with the striker’s in-behind threat with ease.

Gabriel (CB) – 8/10 – Excelled in the duel against the Everton forwards and showcased that he is competent in possession with a few raking passes.

Oleksandr Zinchenko (LB) – 7/10 – Few sloppy moments in the first half, but improved after the break and constantly sought to penetrate the Everton defence with cute passes over the top.

Midfielders

Declan Rice (DM) – 8/10 – Get used to these sorts of performances. It’s just what he does. Rice’s ability to recover possession meant Everton had little success winning the second ball.

Fabio Vieira (CM) – 6.5/10 – Offered a creative spark, even if his execution wasn’t always there. Certainly looks more at ease and a threat every time he receives possession in the final third.

Martin Odegaard (CM) – 6/10 – Odegaard has so far produced this sort of performance every week this season. There were some lovely touches and sequences, but he wasn’t a leading figure in Arsenal’s win.
