2. Aaron Ramsdale is world-class
Despite Arsenal’s woes in the second half after a brilliant first, the side can have Aaron Ramsdale to thank for securing a point.
The Gunners keeper was in fine form late in the game, repelling several Liverpool efforts to keep his side’s point intact.
He wasn’t at fault for either goal, as he was the reason Arsenal managed a point at Anfield—a simply stunning performance.

The second half was all Liverpool as they dominated proceedings, and with three minutes of normal time remaining, Roberto Firmino headed home to bring Liverpool level.

It was a see-sawing contest that saw both sides give everything, but Arsenal lost ground in the title race.

The game provided plenty of talking points; here they are.

1. Advantage City?

Arsenal’s draw with Liverpool and Manchester City’s 4-1 win over Southampton means the Gunners’ lead is now cut to six points. Oh, and City has a game in hand as well.

With Arsenal due to travel to the Etihad, along with tough fixtures against Newcastle and Chelsea, the Gunners lost valuable ground in the title race.

Some say it’s advantage City, but Pep Guardiola’s side has to win out and hope Arsenal doesn’t do the same to have a shot at yet another title.

3. Don’t get the Anfield crowd involved

Arsenal had control of the game, even after Mo Salah scored, but Granit Xhaka’s incident with Trent Alexander-Arnold in the first half can be seen as the catalyst for the Gunners dropping two points.

The home crowd was barely a factor in the opening 35 minutes, but justbefore halftime, Xhaka and Alexander-Arnold came together, causing the Anfield crowd to get involved in the game.
The crowd pushed the home side to greater heights, which carried over into the second half as the game got heated.

Had it not been for Xhaka putting himself in that situation, the result may have been different, but no one can argue that the incident was the fire starter Liverpool needed.
<!—pageview_candidate—>">
